The Science Behind our Honey

Unique Mānuka Factor (UMF) refers to an evaluation of the three key chemical markers in mānuka honey: Leptosperin, DHA and Methylglyoxal (MGO). A UMF grading is assigned to the honey is based on the combined levels of all three of these markers. The UMF Honey Association of New Zealand controls and approves all classifications of UMF honey.
